Om of Gong: Mediation Music to Relax and Heal

Here is YouTube video with music by Volker Schmitz (a German composer) who is also a Buteyko breathing practitioner trained by Dr. Artour Rakhimov (NormalBreathing.com). Om of Gong meditation album is designed to lead the listener into the sounds of the gongs. This is done in order to induce meditation, mind relaxation and body healing. The gongs produce the OM sound. Om is the sacred ancient mantra which represents god.

Great sources of music for meditation

You can easily get tons of meditation music from YouTube. Many videos provide guided instructions to meditate. Some videos with music are up to 3-10 hours long!

Few people are aware, but the oldest meditation text called “The Vigyan Bhairav Tantra”. This scroll is 50 century old Sanskrit text that provides short description of 112 meditation techniques (too short to know exactly how to practice them). However, first four of these meditative techniques are breathing exercises. It is not easy to understand the meaning of these respiratory exercises, but here is a link to the explanation provided by Dr. Artour Rakhimov on his website: Mindful meditation.

Additionally, his website has great pages on yoga. You can find more information on the page that explains breathing for yoga. His main idea was actually suggested by Dr. KP Buteyko, MD who developed the Buteyko breathing technique that includes some elements of yoga.

The first Om of Gong album is on Amazon in MP3 and CD options. You can search for it on Amazom store, or get links for the Om of Gong meditation album from the author's site: Meditation Music http://omofgong.com
